Safety in Salt Production and Processing

Mining and manufacturing, traditionally, are dangerous occupations.   The salt industry, however, has been working diligently to improve its safety performance....with gratifying results.

Each year, U.S. and Canadian salt manufacturers "compete" in the Salt Institute Safety Recognition Program with awards being bestowed on companies with the best safety records in four categories (large/small company and incidence/severity safety records).   The "contest" is part of an industry Safety Recognition Program which has helped managers and employees remain focused on improving workplace safety.
