Changes ahead for school lunches, prices to go up

Allegany County (Md.) students will be paying an extra dime for school lunches starting next year, and the price is expected to go up another 31 cents in the next few years, as public schools across the country make adjustments to comply with a new federal law. Expect similar hikes in school districts across the country as they they scramble to comply with the Obama administration’s Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, which will, among other things, reduce sodium, making meals more bland.
