Congress Targets Food Police Program for Defunding

The chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee on financial services and general government says she is pushing a measure that would stop the Obama administration from moving forward on a program that could eliminate Tony the Tiger and other food advertising for children. Proponents of the "guidelines" say curtailing marketing of food deemed unhealthy will combat childhood obesity. Critics say the guidelines are back-door federal regulations that could be turned into official policy.
