WQA: reverse ban on new water softeners in Calif. county
The Water Quality Association is warning that if a California water agency's ban of water softeners in southwest San Bernardino County is fully enforced by local governments it could lead to search warrants of homes and even jailing of homeowners. The Inland Empire Utilities Agency, which approved the ban this summer, provides regional wastewater service and imports water deliveries to an area just east of Los Angeles. Local governments in the agency's territory are responsible for passing their own laws to enforce the new ordinance on water softeners.
