An unusual October snowstorm is expected to dump up to 10 inches of snow in parts of Pennsylvania. Fortunately, the state appears to be ready with 642,000 tons of road salt stockpiled. Overall, PennDOT plows nearly 40,000 miles of roadways, about the same number of miles maintained by New York, New Jersey and all the New England states combined.
