The first-place essay in the senior division of this year’s prestigious DuPont Challenge science competition is titled "Salt: Saving Lives One Breath at a Time." It was written by the Utah sister of a young girl who has successfully used salt therapy to battle cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disorder that causes severe lung damage and nutritional deficiencies.
