Revised Salt Storage Handbook Released
Alexandria, VA (Jan. 13, 2006)…..Thirty-eight years ago, the Salt Institute, the trade association of salt producers, began publication of its well-regarded Salt Storage Handbook. The sixth edition just hit the streets, updating the 1997 version.
The Salt Storage Handbook addresses such key questions as the environmental security afforded by proper storage, how to estimate needed capacity and how to design and operate a good storage program.
Single copies are free and the document is available for free download at http://www.saltinstitute.org/34.html. Downloads are available in two sizes: a smaller file for online viewing and a larger file (2 MB) suitable for reprinting. The Institute announced its intent to grant reprint permission for agencies wishing to reproduce the document.
To encourage agencies further, the Institute has, since 1987, sponsored an awards program, Excellence in Storage, that recognizes agencies with exceptional storage programs. Details are available at http://www.saltinstitute.org/40.html.
