Salt Institute files comments on draft Canadian Food Guide

In May 12 comments, SI president Dick Hanneman urged Health Canada to retain the recommendation of five Canadian medical groups instead of the recommendation of the U.S. Institute of Medicine which urges universal sodium restriction. He pointed out that none of the 13 health outcomes studies of reduced salt diets support curtailing intake of dietary sodium at the levels currently ingested in Canada.
