Alderman ISH presidential address "Salt, Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Disease" video online
As President of the International Society of Hypertension, Dr. Michael H. Alderman could choose whatever topic he wished to highlight for his global peers in cardiovascular research. He chose "Salt, Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Disease." The Society features a video of his 37-minute presidential address in which he calls for a clinical trial of the health outcomes of high salt diets and presents documentation that for the "moderate" salt intakes consumed in the U.S. and acculturated societies in most countries in the world there is no health benefit to reducing dietary sodium. Watch it online.
